Neville and Sylvia’s Story

For Neville and Sylvia Pollard, downsizing into a spacious apartment at Thornton Park was a decision well made.

“When we first saw Thornton Park, we knew we’d found our home. We couldn’t go past the spaciousness of our two-bed apartment here, the excellent storage and the fortnightly cleaning. It’s fulfilled all of our expectations.

We want to remain independent and have the freedom to do what we want so being within walking distance of everything we need is really convenient. We’re even encouraging our friends to consider joining us here. It’s important not to leave it too late – the younger you are, the more time you have to enjoy everything Thornton Park has to offer.”

John’s Story

For John, moving to Thornton Park was about spacious living and a warm community.

“The day I decided to move into Thornton Park, I walked into the apartment, looked out the window at the gumtrees and thought, “This is it. I could definitely live here.” It was the best decision I could have made.

It’s great moving into a community where every day’s different and there’s always somebody to chat to.. I was out on a walk recently and a bloke I know asked me, “What do you think of Thornton Park Retirement Village?” I said, “Mate, it’s the best kept secret in Penrith.” It’s absolutely lovely. It really is.”

Jenny’s Story

For Jenny, moving to Thornton Park was all about buying a lifestyle defined by peace of mind and a sense of belonging.

“The moment I discovered Thornton Park I was impressed with what I saw – it’s location, location, location. The village is big enough that there’s a wonderful diversity of people, and small enough that there’s a true sense of community and belonging. My neighbours and I really look out for each other.

After living in my house for 39 years, I thought I might have missed it. But since moving to Thornton Park, I haven’t missed it, not even for a second. It was the best decision I could have made.

Lorraine and Rob’s Story

Lorraine and her husband Rob love living in Penrith – but it was Thornton Park’s resort-style living that took their experience to a whole new level.

“I’m a Penrith girl, born and raised. I don’t ever want to leave the area, so Thornton Park has been ideal. We have everything we need within easy distance – medical facilities, the hospital, shops and transport. We can walk to the plaza, which we do and there are lovely places to stroll. The village, when the building’s lit up at night, looks like a resort. It’s absolutely beautiful.”

“From the moment we moved in, I felt comfortable. It wasn’t just the building itself, which is lovely – or the style and the size of our unit, which I love. It’s the social aspect as well. It’s so nice knowing that as part of a community, we always have someone to talk to.”

One of the other things that really puts my mind at ease is that if Rob or I got sick, or our circumstances changed, there’s an aged care facility about two seconds away – it’s brand new and lovely. Knowing we have the option of additional support nearby, should we need it, gives me real peace of mind.”

Sue’s Story

Sue moved into Thornton Park Retirement Village for a low-maintenance lifestyle, a comfortable home and friendly neighbours.

“I bought a lifestyle, but the sense of belonging is priceless. Every time I walk inside my apartment I think to myself, ‘I love my home.’ It’s such a nice feeling. Whenever I go for a walk, there’s always someone to stop and have a chat or a coffee with. Before I moved into Thornton Park I was much more isolated.

“I really did the right thing at the right time. The main benefit for me has been the interactions. Friends all around me, a caring community and an incredible location – I truly couldn’t ask for anything more.”
